Fiskars Reel Mower: This Ain’t Your Daddy’s Reel Mower!

What if you had a mower that was fun to use, had a unique new design, is comfortable and easy to operate, that delivers outstanding cutting performance without gasoline, oil, battery charging, the hassle of electrical cords and is whisper quiet?

As you read every word of this review, you’ll discover a new environmentally friendly, healthy and fun way to maintain your lawn.

I’ve used gas powered walking mowers all my life. The mower I used for eight years to maintain two yards (my own and a rental property I mow) finally gave up and needed replacing.

While researching new mowers, I came across several reel type push mowers. My dad had a reel mower when I was growing up. It had steel gears, big solid wheels and weighed a ton. I could barely push the thing three feet!

Let me tell you, things have changed. What caught my eye is the new Fiskars reel mower. I never dreamed in a million years I would ever consider replacing my gas powered mower with a reel mower. But after taking time to really dig into the details and doing some extensive research… the new Fiskars reel mower turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.

Piano For Beginners

My wife has wanted to learn how to play the piano for years. So last year I got her a beautiful piano with several ‘How To Play’ books. After watching my wife struggle for several months it became obvious that reading a book to learn how to play the piano is the toughest way to learn how to play the piano for beginners.

Of course the best way to learn how to play the piano for beginners is to hire a teacher to sit next to as you learn. Unfortunately my wife’s busy schedule prevented her from meeting with a teacher.

She needed another way to learn how to play and I discovered ‘Learn and Master Piano with Will Barrow’ which looked like it might be the solution to learning piano for beginners!

I dug into this program deeply to check it out thoroughly and was delighted to discover, ‘Learn and Master Piano with Will Barrow’ is really a high quality learning system. I was truly impressed.

The heart of the program are fourteen DVDs that come with the system. Each lesson is clearly explained and demonstrated, so you know exactly what and how to practice. The production quality of the videos and the instruction provided by Mr. Barrow are both excellent.

Ideally your laptop is sitting on or next to your piano as you go through each lesson. And I have to say it is as close to actually having a living, breathing piano teacher sitting next to you as you can get. You can easily pause the program when you like or back it up to go over something again if needed.

The system comes with a master lesson book containing all the songs and exercises you learned in the video lessons so you can practice at your own time and pace for as long as you need before moving on to the next lesson.

Mystic Monk Blend Coffee

I like coffee and drink a lot of it each day. Once I find a blend/roast I enjoy I tend to stick with it but once in awhile I’ll try something new that looks interesting. Recently I came across Mystic Monk Coffee and the flavor and aromas were amazing.

This coffee is actually blended and roasted by real monks in a monastery located in the silence and solitude of the Rocky Mountains of northern Wyoming… who knew?!

Mystic Monk Blend, the one I tried, is the monk’s best selling coffee blend. It is a medium dark roast and comes in the standard 12oz foil vacuum package that sells for $9.95 plus shipping. (Free shipping is available on ‘Value Packs’)

I received my coffee six days after placing my order on the Mystic Monk web site. After placing my order I immediately received a confirmation email with a tracking link. The coffee arrived via FEDEX Home Delivery in a sturdy cardboard box with sufficient packing to prevent it from bouncing around during shipping along with an informative brochure.

I unpacked the coffee and poured a handful of beans. The monks use premium arabica beans. The whole beans were large, well formed and had the dark, dark brown color of a medium dark roast. They had a lush, earthy aroma and the oily look of freshly roasted beans.

I ground some beans and made a pot of coffee. The monks suggest one tablespoon of ground coffee per six ounces of water for medium strength brew and two tablespoons of ground coffee per six ounces of water for a bold brew. I like a lot of flavor in my cup so I used twelve tablespoons of ground coffee to brew a 48oz pot of coffee.

When the coffee finished brewing I poured a cup and the first thing I notice was a nice froth you get from really fresh coffee. I lifted the cup to my face, inhaled deeply and was treated to deep, earthy, rich, lush coffee aromas swirling around my head. It was wonderful.

The first sip was a surprise as well.
